Andy Petford (Redcar)
I just wanted to congratulate you on how well organised I thought the day was. The checkpoints were a welcome sight full of smiling people encouraging you on to the next and scenery was fantastic. The four of us (Tony, Dave and Paul) will definitely be back next year to beat our time of 11 hours with a strategy of NOT going to the pub and drinking too much the night before!
Audrey Greig (Dingwall) (Dingwall)
Really enjoyed the challenge this year. I completed 30 in its first year 2007 and came back again for more 2009. The scenery was beautiful and everyone I met on the way was very friendly. I was walking on my own and it was nice to speak to people now and again along the way. The weather was quite kind especially as the forecast was rain all day. I will definitely do it again - very satisfying when you complete it. My only downer on the day was when I was driving home near Achnasheen my car was hit by a very large stag and dented my bonnet and broke a headlight. Not a very good end to an otherwise really good day!!!
Fiona MacDonald (Uig, Isle of Skye)
This was my second time and l preffered the route this year, it was just great. Thankyou for turning out earlier and manning the checkpoints early we really appreciated it. I believe you will see a rise in runners attending this event, its just a pity it seems to fall on the same day as the Skye Half. Well done to your team though, great organisation and the jelly pit stop and juice station was like an oasis in the desert. Thanks again.
Ken & Sheila McGarva (Carlisle Cumbria)
Hi we would like to thank everyone for a fantastic event, so well organised & friendly. Gave us the opportunity to see some of the most breathtaking scenery. Thank you for clapping us home after 13hrs on the walk, it was a nice touch. we stayed for three days and had fantastic hospitality wherever we went. will definately do it again but maybe not next year!
Anne Cooke (Cumbria)
What a great day and thanks to everyone who was involved in the set up and the day itself. We paced it steady this year just to make sure we'd make it but feel more than tempted to come back next year - see if we can speed up a bit.
Audrey (Angus)
This was my first attempt, tho Catherine, Susan and I retired at 18 miles, it was great fun and we're already planning the strategy for 2010! Well done to all who completed and especially Ian and Sandy!
Irene (Air Na Creagan Mountaineering Club) (North Ayrshire)
Wish to thank you all for such a well organised event. Everyone was so friendly except those horrendous midgies. The scenery was stunning and weather perfect. I have never felt so exhausted in my life.....but it was worth it!!!
Tony (Wales)
Hi and thank you so much for a fantastic time the views were out of this world, the walk was a lot harder than we thought however we were doing it for charity so who cares about the pain. We met a load of great people especially Tony and his wife who donated money to our charity A BIG THANK YOU to you both. I would also like to say a big hi to Helen and Fiona who beat us in and kept us going by laughing at us each time they passed us. Once again thank you to all who arranged it a great event but never again.
Helen Wemyss (Stranraer)
My friend Fiona and I did it together (my third time and Fiona's first) I knocked almost 2 hours off my time (but then we didn't have a tent to put up at Shiel Bridge half way through this year because we stayed in the lovely Glenelg Inn) Once again the organisation was brilliant, everyone is so friendly and cheerful despite the midgies! The jelly baby pitstop girls were a welcome site at Letterfearn-well done girls. We met so many nice people along the way including the Welsh guys.(who had there own non walking driver with them) and the group from Hamilton (sorry we never made it to the bar to get the beers in for you boys but we crashed out after champagne and a peppermint foot soak-we didn't drink the foot soak!) Just for the record we managed to beat the Welsh. A big thanks to everyone involved and I'm never doing it again!
Jane Straker (mid Northumberland)
Did it again! AND 1 hour 10 minutes quicker! AND i'm going to loss the same toenail again!!! Brilliant day but prefer last years route....the final stretch along the beach was a tonic. Well done to Lynn and Angela who i guess will do it again next year too! Thanks to Hubby Alan for putting up with 3 women for 30 miles!
